Threads: Haunted Headed to Print!

Thanks to our 204 backers we’ve been able to successfully fund our Fourth Kickstarter, raising nearly $7,000 to bring our third Anthology to print! Haunted will contain 20 short, spooky stories from our comic creators and we even have the bonus of stickers for all print tiers! Supporters should be seeing their survey’s as soon as the funding clears! Be on the look out! And from all of us here at SpiderForest, THANK YOU for your support!

Applications for the Summer of 2019 are now closed! Thank you all for applying for consideration to become a member! We will be deliberating and voting during the month of August, with the aim of having all results returned in early September! Best of luck to all who submitted!

Cons and Other Money Makers!

Manny (Sarah) will be at Terrificon from August 9th-11th. Pick up Volume 1 of Fighting Dreamers, featuring the first 5 chapters, plus awesome extras! If you happen to be in the CT area, head on over and say hi! Leftover stock will be available on her ETSY after the con concludes!

Christina Major of Sombulus will be at Silicon Valley Comic Con August 16-18 in the Artist Alley at table 90A! Check out her Sombulus books and other fun geeky things!

Hiatuses and Returns!

Last Traveler will be on Summer Hiatus for part of the month of August. Check in during the break for special art, with regular updates resuming on Wednesday August 21st!

Arbalest will [continue to] be on Summer break for the month of August, returning on September 2.

Ingress Adventuring Company is back from its break with the start of chapter 4! Check out what Toivo and the crew are up to! Regular updates on Thursdays.

Retroblade is coming back from hiatus, and will be updating again in August!

Soul’s Journey concludes its fifth chapter on Aug 1st and will head into an intermission after a break week on Aug 15th.

SpiderForest News for June!

This month we’re gearing up for our Third Annual SpiderForest Anthology and the subsequent Kickstarter! Haunted will feature sixteen plus all new short comics with poignant, cute, and spine-tingling ghost stories from our myriad of comic creators! Keep an eye on our Kickstarter Page for updates! Crowdfunding and Merchandise!

Jemma Young will be launching her sci-fi comic Temerity on June 13th on Kickstarter! Temerity is about Taeru who is a genetically enhanced super-soldier and Naia who is a sugar-addicted markswoman. Together they work aboard the starship Temerity as the best mercenary group for hire. If you want to find out more information, you can check out Temerity.space.

The first volume of Darwin’s comic, Gemutations: Plague is live June 1st in her Gumroad Store!  Volume 1 features 100 pages of story, including the fully redone first chapter and revised and formatted pages all the way up to Old Haunts! Check out her Gumroad account for details and cost!

June heralds The Only Half Saga’s thirteenth anniversary!  Started in June of 2006 with Sins of the Father, the title now holds the distinction of being four distinct story arcs, twenty-eight chapters, and 647 pages!  Swing by and take a gander, or if you’re already follower take some time to reread it and comment!  That’s the best anniversary gift Darwin can ask for!

Spiderforest News for April ’19

Yemen Charity Zine! Donate April 1-15th!

Over fifty international comic artists came together to support the Yemeni Crisis by donating time and wonderful original art of their OC’s as kids having fun! Now they’ve been collected into a Zine and, for your donation, you can get a PDF copy for yourself! Follow the link and donate what you can! All proceeds go to the World Food Program to help children and families affected by the famine in Yemin. Our goal is to raise $5,000 towards this effort!

XII: Of Magic and Muses is heading off to it’s first Kickstarter with Volume 1: Monsters!

Our mousy protagonist Willow lives in a mundane and restricted boarding school, which ends up being the worst place someone could get gifted a magical necklace. As the necklace crumbles the school’s secrets around her, Willow is left to wonder if it was a gift sent by friend or foe?

Children of Eldair is running a Kickstarter to get the 3rd book of the series printed. Eldair is about a sorcerer who saves a girl from flesh-eating demons. In a magical mishap, he ends up trapped in a vision witnessing the events leading up to him finding her. This book will contain chapters 11-14 and will run till April 26th.

G Pike is running a Kickstarter to reprint Volume 1 of Title Unrelated, a LGBTQ+ comic about family, friendship, and finding your true self. A trio of siblings befriend a stranger with amnesia, but little do they know they all have ties to a forgotten parallel world.

Comic Milestones and News


Ingress Adventuring Company’s third chapter comes to a close on March 27th and will begin a short break before starting chapter four. Now is the perfect time to catch up on the comic!

Soul to Call has begun its 7th Chapter. Join Avril, James, and Tiffany as they search for a way to rescue Eli from the clutches of the Order. The comic has also resumed biweekly (Monday+Friday) updates!

Fighting Dreamers reaches the 5th anniversary of its launch on March 5th, 2019! 

Heart of Keol has started Chapter 27, “Common Knowledge”

XII of Magic and Muses is hitting Chapter 9 on Monday, March 4th! The girls have had some stumbling blocks with their powers but Georgia, Emma and Willow seem to be on their way to cracking open their necklaces’ secrets.

TOHS: The Devil’s Own begins its third chapter, Proof, on March 7th!  Reluctantly Dominic takes Lady Miranda to see Cabal.  Though he has doubts about Cabal’s culpability in the attack on Damien, proof of his innocence may be hard to come by.

November starts the “Holiday Season,” is the time for NaNoWriMo and officially shows fall colors! SpiderForest Creators keep on coming up with amazing happenings! So let’s check some of them out!

Crowdfunding and Cons!


This month from November 1st to the 15th, Jemma will be crowdfunding her project to get her artwork printed and shipped to backers in time for the holidays. Artwork will include pieces from her comic “Children of Eldair,” her fanart from Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere, and other pieces. You can check out the campaign from her Kickstarter profile. (Since at the time this is being written, the campaign has not gone live, thus no kickstarter link.)

Monday November 5th, Michael resumes updates with the continuation of Jury of My Peers. Additionally, JOMP will come to a close and the new chapter “Misconceptions” will begin on November 26th! Darwin thanks her readers for their patience!


The first chapter (prologue) of TOHS: The Devil’s Own, “Duty”, wraps up on November 15th and the new chapter “Disaster” begins on the 22nd! Dominic’s world is about to fall apart in the quickest way possible…
